I had the opportunity to visit Carlos at his work. What a beautiful place! Pookie’s is a Thai place hidden in an office complex that is more of a nature sanctuary than any office complex I’ve very seen. Here’s a beautiful picture of our appetizer:
And here are some pics of the office complex:
I completely forgot my Friday post again but for good reason. We stayed up working on signs for the March Against Monsanto that happened worldwide on Saturday. So many people don’t know what corporations are doing to over 90% of the food we buy, and the worst types of GMO foods are being marketed and fed to our children! I’m not trying to guilt people for not eating organic 100% of the time, but I am trying to help educate people so that they can make an informed decision about what they eat and feed their families, instead of blind consumerism. Check out the pics from our march here in Ventura, CA!
I will post where you can pick one up as soon as I find out!
At the Farmer’s Market, we tried a shot of wheatgrass from one of the vendors. She kept telling us how great the stuff is for teeth and gums, which of course made us look right at her mouth. Her teeth and gums looked really healthy! Her skin also looked very clear. You could tell she wasn’t wearing much makeup at all if any. I’ve been reading about growing wheatgrass for a while now, so we ended up buying some seeds from her that were already sprouted. Only $4.50 for a giant bag! I planted quite a bit, but still have a lot left! I need to make more growing trays. Anyway, this is my first time growing this, and I created a makeshift tray out of some leftover tomato plastic containers from Fresh N Easy:
I cut them in half and then poked holes for drainage:
My second tray ended up better.
I’ll post progress pics of success or failure. 🙂
Sometimes Carlos goes on field trips for work. Today was one of those days. I was able to work mostly on my phone this afternoon, so the baby and I got to go with him. What a beautiful drive it was to Malibu. We drove on PCH, and because it’s still winter, the road was empty, just like the car commercials depict that are filmed there. Here are a few pictures from our trip:
The view from where we ate lunch, Cholada on PCH.
Look at that water!
Daddy and baby. 🙂
Ah…home sweet home.
I bought some wood panels that I had custom made from a local wood craftsman. He drilled holes in the back for easy hanging as well. I haven’t painted in oils in YEARS. My oil paints were mostly stuck together at the lid and took all of my strength to pry apart, but this was the result of yesterday’s painting session, not finished yet, but a happy work in progress!
Had a great time in Ventura today vending at the Museum of Ventura County. The weather was beautiful and had yummy Thai food from Rice on Main St. Didn’t make a lot of sales but made a lot of great contacts. The artists and creatives in the 805 are awesome! Very glad I ventured out today. I’ll be listing a lot of new items on etsy this week. For more info on my shop, check out www.heavenlyskull.com!
